Rhys couldn’t even swallow his pride enough to ask Tamlin for help with Feyre’s pregnancy. Mister-shape-shifter-healer-man-who-wants-to-make-amends would have been a SOLID CHOICE. Especially since Rhys claimed he exhausted all options. I’m sorry, that’s one option we didn’t even TRY.

They are both abusers. Rhys cuts Feyre off from her friends and family. She has no financial independence. He curates her wardrobe. He gives her busywork (the mansions, the studio, the party planning), he uses s3x to distract her when she questions him, he ch0ked her when she woke him from his nightmare, went into her mind and took control of her body, determined who she could train with when and how, publicly degraded her in the court of nightmares KNOWING she was his mate and setting her up to never have their respect, degraded her to the other HLs UTM so they won’t respect her either, made medical decisions without her knowledge… should I keep going?

I mean overall both have toxic traits that they have to work through, there are a lot of things that Rhys does that I don’t like outside of just Feyre, there are a lot of things Tamlin does that I do not like outside of Feyre as well, I HOWEVER, am reserving my right to judge Tamlin fully because we only see him through the eyes of his ex lover, and said ex lover, imo, puts a lot of her issues onto him so much so that she no longer wants to see him, ever, meaning whatever narrative we get of Tamlin from her (or even Rhys) is going to be subjective of their feelings for him

After finishing the series low key a tamlin Stan. I truly think Rhys and Feyre belong together, however I don’t think Tamlin did anything with ill intent. She fought under the mountain for him, when she disappeared was he not supposed to do anything to fight for her?

I’ve changed my opinion on many Acotar characters during these 2 and a half years, since the first time I’ve read the books. Because I wanted to understand them, their words, their actions or inactions. The way they think, the way they feel, everything! I was a die hard Feysand girly, I loved Cassian and I was totally blind at first. It took me the 3rd and 4th time to start actually seeing deeper. That goes for Tamlin. Something Tamlin did was a bug trigger for me, and therefore I built a wall around his character and didn’t even want to explore further. I think I misjudged him. I think it’s okay to change your opinion on a certain character when you have valid reasons and start seeing them more deeply.

my hot take: Rhys is no better than Tamlin. he's manipulated Feyre in many of the same ways but he's just quieter about it. I also think Tamlin deserves a redemption arch.
