for everyone saying state backpacks are higher priced brand but made better....No they are not made better,My son who will be a senior this year got a black Jansport bookbag his freshman yr used it all freshman yr, sophomore year...then decided last yr (junior year) he wanted a state backpack even though his Jansport was still perfect...yeah he had his last year before it became a big thing this year...but the state backpack didn't even last half the school year before seams and stitches were ripping and zipper breaking and sticking and one strap coming out through the seam, so he had to end up using his Jansport anyway for the remainder of his junior year....NEEDLESS TO SAY guess what backpack he will be using for his 4th and final yr senior year of highschool..yup you guessed it that same Jansport!! He is a rough and tough boy and let me tell you I will only buy my kids Jansports no more trying others because Jansport lasts years and are durable, washable and I think they might even have some type of warranty I've heard...don't hold me in that but still amazing

I’ve had the same backpack since sixth grade and I’m a junior, survived through the beach, probably 300 hundred sleepovers, moving twice, the price? 40 bucks and embroidered with my initials around 60. I will use that backpack till it falls apart. If you get it make him use it for life girl 😭

Ever heard of saying no. It's not in the budget. End of story.

Why do these people make it sound like our children are literally sitting there threatening us when we say we ‘have to’ get them something. Simmer down Barb, it’s a backpack and sometimes we like to do things that bring our kids joy even if we snarkily complain about it…that’s the beauty of parenting. 😆

I don’t even think my kindergarten-to-be even knows he needs a backpack. I also don’t even see a kid that age not wanting a character backpack. I mean if it’s because you like it that’s ok too 😂 Which would make a little more sense.

“Teachers say they hold up…” and the teachers I know with kids will say that unless you’re okay with them not using it next school year, don’t. lol bc every year it’s a new theme, new concept, new aesthetic. So my opinion is, if it’s no big deal to drop $150 on the bag do it! It’s great quality. lol but if you have to think this long, don’t bc next year they may not want to carry the same bag.

My son picked out a $50 Nike backpack on Kohl’s because I showed him what I could afford and what I believe to be reasonable. He had options that were within my budget.

This is very off-topic, but your lashes are so very pretty. Also, no hate or anything, but if you’re planning on getting him another backpack next year, you might just ask him if he wants to change backpacks.

Lesson here is you don’t always get what you want. 145$ for a backpack is out-damn-rageous. My hub & I make very good money, my kids go to private school but they are re-using their backpacks from last year, 3rd time running cause it’s not broken & trends don’t dictate my purchases.

I was raised as a walmart kid just get a camping backpack from Walmart they will last your kid years, i have had to get 2. 1 in middle school and in my sophomore year and I still have. at most 30 bucks it is a waiste of money to buy something for that much, you will be constantly worried about your kiddo loosing or getting it ruined and that is stress the kiddo doesn't need, not to mention coming on here and saying that your wallet isn't ready and maybe you can get enough views means you shouldn't buy it if you are wanting to rely essentially on others to pay for an almost $200 backpack not worth it
