I did for kindergarten and preschool and they taught me to read when I was 3 and was years ahead in math. Maybe it depended on each kid?

Many children who attend public schools also don’t properly learn basic reading or math skills. The Montessori pedagogy has been proven to be a great form of education. Schools and teachers can differ greatly, which is why it is important to seek out an accredited teacher/schools.

I did Montessori pre school but my mom pulled me out for K-12 since she didn’t feel like we learnt that much. One of the girls in my cohort in grad school did Montessori K-8th grade and she was insufferable, always had to mention she did Montessori even though she was like in her mid 20s, and thought she knew everything, so maybe there’s a connection lol

There is the potential that it wasn’t a real Montessori school. It was the school that was like Montessori inspired, but they slapped the Montessori label on it and didn’t have someone who was like actually trained in teaching Montessori style education

Am I the only one that genuinely learned so much? We had weekly spelling tests, quizzes over books we read, multiplication tests, guitar lessons, story writing units, memorizing the Declaration of Independence, learning lifecycles of animals using butterflies, making and painting pottery that we made

I went to Montessori 1-8th grade, once I got to high school it was VERY hard for me to transition.

I went to a Montessori school and had literally the best education ever. Every one is different though I’ve heard bad reputation of other schools

Depends on the standards of the school. My 2nd grader in Montessori private school is ahead in math and is able to fill out a worksheet fine. And Montessori truly isn’t for everyone

Montessori is amazing for creative / imaginative children. If you struggled in Montessori, you likely are more logical.

When I finally went to public school, I literally have an IEP and couldn’t do basic multiplication, and division or spell any words bigger than four letters, 😭😭😭😭😭

I attended a private Montessori school, and it was amazing. Later, I went to a public school, and it just didn't meet my expectations. I feel that the Montessori method can only truly thrive in a private school setting.

It doesn’t depend on the kids, it depends on the teachers. And I don’t care why is a big statement.
