Those people saying “it’s not a democracy” not realising that real democracy doesn’t actually exist, your votes don’t actually make a difference and having governments change every 4-5 years actually hurts progress whereas governments like China can plan 20-30 years ahead knowing another government won’t come in and sabotage their plans. China protects its citizens from the western media, because frankly the west demonise their way of life. I’m not saying China doesn’t have problems (it does) - but compared to the U.K. and US right now, it’s thriving!

I am a Chinese living in China, thank you for sharing your life in China. Many people tend to swing from one extreme to the other, and China is certainly not as bad as the Western propaganda, but it also has its own problems, such as a lack of freedom of speech and a significant wealth gap, although I understand the complex real-world logic behind it. But if everyone can look at China in a normal way, it may be more helpful to understand the real world.

In America the money all goes to the rich, in China it goes to the people, yet they still have millionaires and billionaires. They also have free healthcare, no homeless, and a happy population that is cared for. Clean streets, no graffiti, no school shootings, great roads, affordable fast, clean public transport.

It feels like almost every inch of our public space has been monetised in the west, and it's becoming prohibitively expensive to do anything. The parks are the only thing that are still (mostly) free, and they close at sunset

I'm not sure if I quite agree with you. I live in Chicago and there's all sorts of stuff going on during the summer. while taking the bus home, I saw a group of probably 200 people doing group yoga by the lake. beyond that people are hanging out, playing volleyball, swimming, running, biking. there's also golf sports Fields places to hang out. I also work on Michigan avenue and any day I go out for lunch. there's musicians playing music on the street there are fruit stands people with their pets for you to get pictures including snakes and birds. there are docents giving walking architectural tours. there are boats going up and down the river full of people looking at the buildings. so yeah that's a great City but American cities have their own culture too. don't get it twisted.
