This program is called “Alien Labor Cartification. Program. It was made into law by Democrat run Congress who wrote snd voted to make this program law last century to resolve the lack of burdened in USA. So if an employer had positions that “no American could do 94 wanted to do” the employer could hire foreigners who has high end education and certifications in their home govt thst were equivalent to US standards for same profession. But first the size monitor had to advertise the opening for at least three weeks or Americans who match the quals could apply. Snd the amines could NOT already be living in the US as thst would prove they are illegally in US. It has really helped the elderly get priority nursing care in the US from the zpmilaoeans who had same educational and training requirements as Us did for nurses. Then engineers where sought from foreign nations to do the work Americans couldn’t do bc the engineering, math, and science college grads in US were so low the US companies county hire qualified applicants. Thst has now changed. us educated and citizens are many who have engineering degrees. Then bio tech was the news career segment needed and there were not enough Americans qualified to do thst work either do citizens of foreign govts were united who had equalificatiins. Employers must “Certify” the alien the are hiring is in a foreign govt, has the same qualifications required of American who apply and thst the employee can show them a “help Wantwd Ad” published at least threee weeks in US to prove they made diligent effort to first hire an American do to the job with required skills. Many aliens come to US under this program then never show up for the job or do so briefly then become illegal in the US. Most are avoid. It biebmicrososft sounds like it is laying off higher paying Americans with the skills to hire less qualified giving them lower wages. This is hence fraud by Microsoft and all employers who do this. Democrats politics invented this program so generally they use it like Dems Bill Gates a billionaire who can afford to sounder US citizens to attend college for engineering to then hire them in US.

Wait these recipients are intelligent 😅, and if they have to live in the US they would realize that the salary doesn’t meet the cost of living 🙈 and would protest for an adequate salary unless from an dangerous country. If the international employee live and work abroad then it’s just remote work

I was a a govt investigator who investigated the fraud by employers and immigrants in this Alien Labor Certification Program. Have not heard anyone mention it in decades. So interesting. Major fined for the employers for fraudulent use of thei program.

The H1B visa is first provided by being in STEM in the US, and it does not mean that the talent is at a lower cost. People know their worth, especially if it’s a very special skill, which it would be to be under that type of visa.

The laid off American roles are sales roles, while the H1-B visa roles are engineering roles. Engineers are paid 200k+ if they can pass the 6-9 rounds of technical interview which can last up to 2 days. It is not cheaper for Microsoft to sponsor H-1B visa, they had to because not many Americans can pass the 9-hour interview loop.
