I think your pricing is reasonable and I love that you tailor your work to meet the client’s desires/goals to stay within their budget but still give them something they are happy with when the budget is a little smaller. You are very upfront about what is too ambitious for a client’s price range and it shows in your consultations! ❤️

✨excellent post✨ plus! the attention is unwavering- there are not a dozen people in that space with you, you’re not teaching another stylist, or taking time in a break room while the client is processing- you’re focused and PRESENT (and that’s not happening many places)

I charge 135 starting for highlights and I got told im to expensive and that they can get it done for 65 from someone else.

I'm in the UK, our pricing is cheaper sounding but the £-$ is in our favour. I was charging about the equivalent for "create a dream" sessions. where we work to what they want and taylor like you do for the budget. I love the way you talk and educate. xx

as a licensed cosmetologist for the last 15 years, an independent contractor and small business owner, EXACTLY. 2 stylists are NOT THE SAME. u pay for me, for my continued education, my years behind the chair, my time and product. i try to accommodate smaller budgets but at the end of the day, big services = big money 🤷🏽♀️I'll be more than happy to give u what u can afford but im not in a position to lose money on an accommodation. im with u girl! thanks for speaking up for us 🖤

Anyone in UK or Ireland can't charge like you that's the difference. We're still guilted into not charging enough... Look around people how many salons are closing in your area... They're staywopen in the states... Wonder why? Coz they charge what they should.

I used to get this as a figure skating coach. I was not an Olympian but i was very knowledgeable in my specialty and great at teaching. But had to keep my costs lower due to ‘area’, affordability and an industry where being a professional athlete of high stature must mean your a better coach. That’s like saying everyone who goes to school can teach. A lot of folks are great with skill, learning skill, doing skill, teaching. Etc

if I lived near you I probably still couldn't afford you, that doesn't mean I think you should charge less. I do not understand people who don't recognise your skill! I'm not about to walk into Hermes and say I can get a knock off for 100 dollars so they should lower their prices because it's totally the same. You charge a premium because you provide a premium service it's that simple.

My stylist went to weekdays only and I love her so I found a way to make it work. And tbh, love that she gets two regular days off with her guy! I’m happy to pay what she charges bc she does a fantastic job AND always makes me feel welcome and valued. A good stylist is worth their weight in gold and I can either make it work or not, but they’re not worth less just bc I can’t afford it.
