This is exactly what just happened to me .x ordered 6.5 in kids , tried on and it was too tight . Went up to 7 and now slightly a little too loose for my liking sigh

Addis take a few try’s before you find the size because some run big and some run small you will find the right size

Put a sock on or an insole in. If they are leather, they will stretch.

If they have insoles- get a 4.5 and remove the insole

You should get it in women’s kid sizing is for kids for a reason that’s why they fit that way

I went through a similar situation with these shoes. I'm normally a 5 1/2 so that's what ordered they were too small, so I then ordered a 6 they were also too small. Went in store tried a 6 1/2 and they were big I just gave up. They are so cute though.

That was a lot of wiggle room, I would be afraid they might flop when you walk. You could also try putting in heel pads that might do the trick.
