🚨 Handling the narcissist PART 2👇 👉 Firstly this video is intended to highlight how to deal with someone who displays narcissist traits- we can never truly know if someone is a narcissist. Please see the caption in Part 1 for more information. 🧠 Working with someone who displays these behaviours can be incredibly disorientating. It can be almost impossible to have an open conversation with them as whatever you say will be twisted. ▶️ Narcissistic people are highly unlikely to take any responsibility for their actions and will have no interest in understanding your perspective. They don’t have empathy and frankly your feelings are a complete inconvenience to them.  💡As a result when you raise an issue with them they are likely to gaslight you and play the victim like in this video. 👉 Having a few phrases up your sleeve to see if you can shift the dynamic of the conversation can really help. That’s why I created the heated work interactions cheat sheet for you.  The phrase I used in this video was:  “How can we get this conversation back on track? As I don’t think it’s working for either of us at the moment” If the dynamic doesn’t shift then continuing the conversation is pointless- I would suggest stopping it as shown in this video.  💡I would not recommend going into battle with a narcissist. They can be very nasty. Therefore in this scenario I would recommend raising it with your manager/ someone senior and asking them to intervene when the interrupting happens.  📌 Please be mindful that the perspective offered in this video is generalised and won’t fit every situation so please follow your instincts about whether this applies to your situation.
