The same thing happened on my O2 WRX, so I took the fender off and rerouted the harness in the top part of the fender

I run this kit with 275’s up front and have had no trouble with this. I recommend taking your time with the wiring steps. I was so meticulous with tucking the wiring out of the way and even extended one harness.
