I like the Harry Potter comparison and hope that's the route they choose to take. it would be good if the films shift to a more serious tone down the line when they start introducing the bigger villains like darkseid or doomsday.

While yes I agree with you on most points but being being beat up you need to look at the root cause each time it happened, ultraman was made to be stronger, kriytonite held him down quite a bit, over all I think he held back the majority of the movie.
