for people wondering why its like that, its bcs iceland is over two tectonic plates pulling apart, which is pulling the land itself apart, forming a crack in the surface, which forms a volcano wall looking thing. in millions of years, iceland will be two different islands entirely.

This happens all the time was just in Iceland and they said they were preparing to expect a volcanic eruption any day. They were building dams to hopefully stop the lava flow from entering Reykjavík. Their volcanic activity is monitored hourly and it’s really good. They’re not extremely worried I can assure you, because they knew it was coming.
