Have a look at “solid starts” app, I just use the free version. But I look up the food I want to serve and it shows you how to serve it at the correct monthly age!! Sooo helpful.

I kept baby Telfast on hand as well for allergens just in case my bub had a reaction, but thankfully he was all good! I’m sure she’ll do well with BLW style 🥰

Just know with baby lead weaning coughing and gagging are all fine (as they learn this new skill) it’s when they’re making no noise and gagging motion they’re chocking. The size and strips was perfect with the omelette when you first start the texture you’re after should be able to be squashed between fingers. :)

I find doing allergens in the morning is best as it gives you enough time to notice any reactions. Also I gave my 8 month old at 4.5 months purées to start with but then she preferred BLW so I did a mixture of both that way she got enough of her meal whilst exploring ❤️

We found baby led weaning easier as well! Also a suggestion is to give allergens in the morning so you are able to monitor for a reaction throughout the day 🥰

I gave my six month old son egg for the first time over the weekend and served it exactly the same (I just follow solid starts). He coughed and gagged so much on it but apparently as long as it goes in and around their mouth that enough from an allergen perspective 😊

When you give allergens, make sure you have your husband or another adult there because if she is allergic or has reaction, you have another set of eyes and also another person to keep you possibly calm and focused

When they are coughing and gagging it is good it’s shows that they are breathing. In regards to allergens try in the morning so you can monitor through the day. Also know it’s hard be remain calm it helps them be comfortable trying things.

I think I read somewhere it’s good to give 4 tries of allergens and have seen other mums suggest trying them in the hospital car park! I’m so nervous to try allergens 🥺

I didn’t do baby led weaning because my baby finds it absolutely hilarious to feed the dog everything, but he doesn’t really eat that much puree anymore
