I had a boss like this. I walked out on the job during that meeting. She called me for 6WEEKS afterward trying to convince me to come back “as long as I work 8+hrs every shift”. You’re gonna micromanage WHILE TRYING TO GET ME TO COME BACK? Needless to say, I did not go back. Fantastic decision.

I used to have my time tracked by the minute. They asked me about my bathroom breaks. Said they didn’t believe me. I offered to provide a sample each time. They backed off. I pressed the issue, they apologized.

My job makes us take time off our breaks for RR usage. I hate it there. Even though it’s wfh. I flat out told a sup one time that my cycle started and I was sitting in a puddle of blood. Unless they wanted me to submit a claim for my $600 chair they can give me and extra 5

I had this actually happen. I offered to work exactly 8 hours per day, M-F with no additional time. My offer wasn’t accepted

How much productivity did the boss waste looking up hours, making a spread sheet, checking calendars to find a time to meet, have the conversation? seems like a lot of wasted time.

So obviously, if you work M-F on a 40hr week, your hours will be less on average after PTO and sick days are factored in 🙄

I had a manager like this, they were inflexible and were gobsmacked i quit after a month. I told them there was more to life than work and they didnt pay their workers enough to do so many hours.

reminds me of my former manager who said my error rate should be absolute zero. I explained to her there is no industry that has an absolute zero error rate and data entry which is most closely aligned with what I was doing has between a zero and 5% error rate🙄🙄🙄😡😡😡

my response would be that I want everything he just said in writing. once I got it in writing, I would hand it over to my lawyer for him to discuss the terms of of both the settlement my employer will be giving me and how soon my supervisor would be removed from the company.

I had a manager who was convinced a colleague was under working and harassed HR to provide this same data for him so he could discipline her. The data showed she was logging in MORE than her allotted hours. He never said another word about it.

No manager does this amount of work unless they’re trying to separate. This is documentation in preparation of a term.

I had an HR person like this many yrs ago at start of my career. 5 of us in dept had a supervisor that liked to come in late. he preferred we get 15 min break over before he got in. so we would arrive, clock in on computer. work 30 min. clock out for break go get breakfast at café and come back. HR said "not allowed to do that". boss and employees agreed we'd continue to do breakfast run and just clock in and out when HR expected.
