honestly even as friends he would have carried her, i think his ego was hurt and he was being emotional i know for a fact when someone tells you he doesn’t like bunch of things about you, it will get you upset but that’s how it is the conversation needed to happen and i think him not carrying her that moment is just a preview of how he acts when he is upset and that’s a turn off honestly

Yall are crazy, she didn't even get mad when he refused to carry her, stop throwing the "abusive" word around, in another scenerio is her asking after a date gone wrong whether, if he was going to drive her back home or she needs to find her way back home herself, she have the right to ask just as he have the right to say no, but is kinda sad since she probably thought he was a real gentleman, if you disagree, its sad that we can see the lack of chivalry the men in your life have for you (PSA they only gave him water shoes and not her)
