Please make an appointment with therapist who specializes in trauma if you haven’t already. It can help prevent the trauma from turning into PTSD. It’s so good you’re using coping skills too. It will get better with time.

this paired with trauma therapy! address it early and it helps prevent the trauma from settling into your brain more permanently, basically. there is a great book called "the body keeps the score" that is a great read!

Please keep posting about your healing journey!! This will help you significantly! Talking about it & fully processing it is so important when dealing with traumatic events. Pushing it down and avoiding the situation altogether is what causes things like this to haunt you. From what ive seen so far, you are doing all the right things in order to heal as much as you can from this. I would recommend spending as much time outside as you can as well. Go on walks, hikes, bike rides, etc… nature is healing:) ❤️🩹
