Retirement age is 65 and ageism impacts professionals even younger than that. Why doesn’t that apply to the most important job in the country??

67 is the current retirement age. So I think 70 should be the absolute limit, as in you can’t run if you will turn 70 during the term, and you need to retire from the bench if an appointed judge.

I think you have to be minimum 40 and maximum 55 to run for ANY political office. That’s it. Once you hit 55 you step down at the end of your term.

i agree with the retirement but not witht the age thing at all. i think people in there late 20s i think are able to understand the government. doctors get thier degree around that age why not have the president be that age:/ and i think there has to be a mandatory ethics test of every president. but honestly the sytem need to change cause he got away with rigging the election.

I agree with you on needing some kind of limit or check on age in the government, I fear that tying it to the official retirement age would just encourage them to keep raising it. A bunch of them are already arguing for this

My suggestion is that no one can run for office if they will reach 70 before the end of the term. But 70 is just arbitrary. This would apply for any federal office, elected or nominated, or civil position.
