@renee_bowen: DO THIS: 1. Get super clear on your purpose and why you want to start this business. 2. Realize immediately that this is a business if you are charging money so you need to actually learn how to run a business; this is hard for most creatives - find someone who’s already done what you wanna do successfully and mentor with them 3. Decide what kind of business you want to run; meaning do you want to run a high-end photography business and charge more money for what you do? Or do you want to run a high volume business? There are no wrong answers but you do need to understand the numbers behind them. 4. Once you decide what kind of business you wanna run and how you want to run it and why you want to run it, now you have to deeply understand who the person is that you’re marketing to 5. Build your brand based on all of these foundational essentials and learn how to show up for yourself and your marketing. Marketing becomes super easy once you build it this way - you do need to know your numbers, and you do need clarity on what it is you truly want. And then I think the most important piece of all of this is that you need to have the right mindset to stay on track! You need to have the right combination of grit and mindset - action and belief. Stop looking for proof that the economy is terrible and that people aren’t spending money everywhere because they absolutely are - I have multiple coaching clients who are making lots and lots of money as professional photographers.
