Girl speak it. I'm a mom of five living in a homeless camp for the last 5 years. yeah...5 years. why? because no matter how much we work, how much we make, we can't afford it without section 8. and to get section 8? Hard af. because we live here, in a camp, were not a priority.

Exactly it’s so messed up I’m raised and born in Hawaii but me and my family ended up homeless we tried to get housing but no a non Hawaiian family who moved from the mainland got in housing but not us Hawaiians so sadly me and my family ended up moving off island , Hawaii will always be my home but it’s hard to get housing and everything is expensive

most people dont realize hawaiis homeless population is because the mainland gave one way tickets in the late 90s. we were there in 91, no homeless. 92 more homeless. 94more homeless. 98 the busses weren't safe anymore

it’s happening to the whole US “you can’t even afford it in your own state” EXACTLY that’s the issue rn. the past 4 years ppl have been able to just come into America for free, living off funds giving to them to the point where ppl born here can’t even get help or housing… it’s a crisis for everyone

It’s insane how people that live off section 8 think they are entitled to free housing in all states. No, get your but up and go to work. they go and drain the whole system from one state and jump onto the next state. They need to get a job and need to leave section 8 for the people that really need it.
