@standwithlilah: How we have handled leaving Lilah for a couple of days. It’s always hard being away from her. We are so lucky to have such an incredible support system. #cancer #childhoodcancer #childhoodcancerawareness #braincancer #braincancerawareness
This makes perfect sense, do not feel bad at all to leave her! She will be ok. I volunteered pediatric oncology for 5 years and would play with the kiddos and hang out. They were fine a day or two without Mom and Dad, even if no family was there. We would chill together and the nurses are also really good about making them feel loved if they are alone. If she has other family or even a friend of yours even better. Take care of you as well 💗

Hux was in the nicu I didn’t want to leave..especially since we lived a hour away from the hospital and I had one nurse that said so you don’t burn out it’s ok to leave for a couple hours or 24..48..hours..because you as his mom need to be mentally ok so that he can thrive..so hubby did nights I did days because we had 2 older children at home and he was given 2 weeks off from work and he came home during that time and when he was diagnosed with ATRT at age 3 I always remembered that but during his 3rd stem cell I struggled to leave but he was on a ventilator so it was a little harder..but he is now 3 years post treatment..I still at times get that fear..but generally it’s during the 2-3 weeks before scans and I’ll get scared about 6-8 weeks after that scan he gets scans every 16 weeks (4 months)
