All for positions that don’t even start for two to three years. Welcome to the frenzied world of private-equity recruiting, where recent college graduates who have barely started their first gigs as analysts at big banks vie to secure coveted positions at buyout firms. How can they enforce it? Say I accept an offer to start in 3 years but I never disclose it. In 2.8 years, I resign and do not disclose my next employer which is typical in banking. Even once they figure out where I went, they never know when I was offered & they can’t fire me. What’s the enforcement power?

Conflicts of interests is an interesting claim by investment banks, just look at the recent hire of Rishi Sunak to GS the other day. Loool

I’m an airline pilot in Canada. Smaller airlines do something similar in a sense where when you start and obviously need to be trained on the aircraft you’re flying they’ll make you sign a bond saying you’ll pay them if you leave before a certain date. They treat you horribly and there is literally zero effort to improve wages and working conditions, instead just trying to scare people into staying put. Sounds similar to what’s going on here

So capitalism only works one way?? Is ‘At will employment’ only reserved for companies to drop thousands of employees? Why don’t they compete with PE salaries and hours to retain the talent
