I had a similar situation And what I got from it is that he didn’t want men “like him” or somewhat higher value to try to talk/pursue me as well. Especially when he realized I actually had substance to me and I felt he thought other men would see that and like me like he did. It’s odd lol so he might have similar thoughts lol

He started to really want to be with you. Men don’t keep there girl in the club if they actually want to be with you. That is a form of him trying to protect you. He prolly doesn’t need your money. Was tryna see if you would allow him lead you/ trust him.
