@coralrs_3: Chronically Ill — The difference it makes to be believed. 🫶✨ #chronicillness #InvisibleIllness #multiplesclerosis #autoimmunewarrior #chronicillnessawareness #fyp #foryoupage
I feel invalidated a lot still. It was really bad as a teen and in my 20s (back in the late 90s/early 2000s) when things weren’t as studied, nobody talked about it etc. Nowadays, we have communities like this (which help so much) but then when it’s those close to you that make you feel like you’re “being dramatic” or telling you you need to “push through” or “suck it up”…..it hurts so much more.

Being believed when you’re chronically ill changes everything. The relief, the validation, the hope. 🧡 If you know, you know.

So true. It’s stress and more stress and more stress from fighting the pain. It does turn into trauma which is the absolute pits😞

I’ll admit that when my mother was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 30 years ago, I thought it was a made up disorder to push meds. Karma kicked my ass when the same thing happened to me about 10 years ago, hit me hard. The reality of it is that you never know what someone is dealing with and you can’t see the pain that they endure. I wish you all as much relief, from your chronic illness, that you can get.
