@theathletedietitian: Shocker - it’s not actually providing you with any *energy* One thing that has been consistent with almost every athlete I have worked with is fatigue and low energy. The worst offenders are skipping meals and important fueling windows and instead grabbing for an energy drink or afternoon coffee. Of course, I get it. Caffeine has the ability to block adenosine receptors delaying sleepiness and creating a feeling of alertness. But in the end, caffeine is lacking actual *energy* you need from food to power through your workouts and training sessions. Try reaching for a snack FIRST before that afternoon pick me up and watch your energy start to shift #athlete #nutritionforathletes #sportsnutrition
