My hospital had such a lawsuit and people got huge checks for it. They fixed things for a minute and ten years later, we’re asked a few questions at the end of every shift at the time clock: Did we get our lunch break? Did we get our two 15 minute breaks? Next to the time clock is a sign advising us that the timekeeper can only approve a maximum of two missed breaks, so reporting a third missed break will result in one of them being denied. From lawsuit to placing prominently, in writing, in multiple areas, that even if we truthfully report not getting ANY of the three breaks we’re legally entitled to, we still won’t be compensated for them. These lawsuits are a slap on the wrist for them. They truly do not care.

The excuse is that there is no one to break you. Admin gets around it because they tell you to relieve eachother and no one wants 12 patients on a busy med surg unit. So they get away with it. Admin will find a way to retaliate if you complain.

They don't take them in effort to get the work done so is this a break thing or time managament thing ? 🤔 Because every employer offers them nurses don't take em

Every state has this law…I don’t get it. Take your breaks and make them accountable
