@theenglishcoach: I know the dictionary says this suffix is pronounced /fəl/… but I actually find /fol/ to be a more helpful way to think about it. The vowel sound is made farther back in the mouth and reminds me of the Spanish /o/. Just try it and see if your pronunciation feels more natural.
