People also forget that Waco has Baylor: a private Baptist university, which includes Truett Seminary. It's seen as a big sports school, but it's very religious. IE: they just rescinded a grant for research into inclusivity in the church (with a focus on LGBTQIA+). This is very much a big deal.

I was a fan of theirs for years and kind of stopped watching cause I wasn’t sure where they were politically and assumed being a rich couple from Texas they were not the most excepting people in the world. I’ve never been more happy to be wrong in my entire life lol

My wife and I moved to SD a few years back. I'm a disabled vet; she's a hairstylist. At least 5 of her clients told her last November they didn't vote for Trump this time bc of us. Every single person matters. Visibility matters. Minds change in the liminal spaces.

IMPORTANT POINT GERRYMANDERING DOES NOT EFFECT DIRECT ELECTIONS. President Governor and senator all are direct elections in Texas and Texas has more registered Dems that Republicans. Voter suppression is very real but people also buy into gerrymandering meaning their vote doesn’t matter in these elections and it VERY MUCH DOES. Go vote, get your friends and neighbors to vote, they can’t stop you they can only make it hard
