The scene in the devil wears prada in which they talk about a fashion trend dripping down from couture fashion to your hometown budget supermarket illustrates it quite well.

Yes- body types and beauty follow this same “trend market” at a way higher cost. It’ll be interesting to watch how the ultra rich pivot now that ozempic and cosmetic surgery become more ubiquitous and thus more affordable- “interestingly beautiful” and “norm core “ becoming in fashion again means late stage capitalism may have accidentally brought back authenticity?

True. We shouldn’t care about what is chic and what is not. It’s mainly brainrot here on tiktok and there is no grin of creativity. However, taste is cultivated. And ingrained in spaces where different forms of knowledge is spread. So people should just go out and experience life instead of following these classist trends. It’s really not chic ;)
