Abuse is not a part of Islamic teachings. In fact, Islam upholds the dignity, respect, and rights of women in ways that are deeply rooted in compassion and justice. What this individual’s father did is unquestionably wrong, but his actions should not be seen as a reflection of an entire religion or country.
