When my girls were that age I let them know that I provided the phone for my convienence. Anything they got after that was fine. But if I am trying to communicate with them and it’s now not convienent because they aren’t answering either calls or text, it was no longer convenient for me and i would turn it off. Once I had my youngest not answer for hours. I turned it off on Verizon and got a call from her friends phone within 15 minutes. I told her I figured she had lost it since she is never anywhere without it. Last time I had a problem for a while!

My son soon to be 17 does this. I swear I’m on DND. So I told him you will answer me or I’ll take the phone to work with me the next day. If it’s kept up I’ll get ya a landline to use.🤣 He answers me now.
