I’m curious what research you’re referencing with this. The Mayo Clinic and NIH retain that a moderate amount of coffee does not contribute to dehydration and may even contribute to hydration. The urine lost in studies was dilute (urine osmolality < serum osmolality) suggesting that dehydration was unlikely.
