It’s odd because I always go back to Genesis where God specifically tells Adam that his curse is to work the ground. That’s what makes me think the man is meant to work.

People also forget that women worked outside the home in the Bible even doing manual labor. And it was very common among poorer classes the Greco Roman world

What’s the definition of taking care of? Financially? Disciplining? Protecting? I’ve seen dads who are there financially but not great “leaders” if that makes sense

This is off topic, but your videos discussing your genetic disease were comforting to me. There aren’t a lot of believers I’ve come across on here who are open with chronic illnesses and I feel seen.

Thanks! That's what I gather as well. "Providing for" can have a plethora of meaning.

would it be ungodly for our current society to be a matriarchy instead of a patriarchy

I have a question, what is the church of Jesus Christ? Like there are different denominations of it but some seem to reject the other and like a body everything part has to work together, so is there a definite church or is the church just any ministry?

Our family went thru a season, when God called us to a new work, and my husband stayed home for 5 years. He ran the home and I worked. It was a difficult time for him as the husband/dad to see himself in this role but he DID provide so much to our family during that time. It was a season. God used it, and blessed it, and we bore fruit thru it!

It’s the same in French. One man in a group makes the group masculine. Ils v. elles (an exclusively feminine group)

what's crazy is that stay at home dads are providing for their family- they're cooking, cleaning, teaching, caretaking, love,-- but when pastors like whatshisface say a man shouldn't stay at home, they are reducing provision down to only financial provision. there's so much more kids need than just that.

Weird and stupid question here but, does romance really exist or is it just something that’s over valued in western society/media?
