I agree, man should love and honour their mothers which I respect. The same love and honour should be shown to the wives cause your mother opened your eyes and wife shall be the one to close your eyes. Grandmother, mother, wife. Not a competition but these three woman carry you at different times of your life journey.

Wife’s never start to challenge the MIL, in fact makoti would love to be in great relationship with the MIL. It is the MIL that over steps and husband fail push back or call a boundary. In most cases MIL want to be chief Wifes in their son’s lives and homes. You wonder about the position between the MIL and FIL cos why is he letting his wife be a chief wife somewhere else. Also it is unfortunately the MIL that have gone through a lot that wants to abuse wifes you would think what they went through would have given them empathy. Also all that your mum did for you is naturally what she is supposed to do for you as her child she is suppose to give her all to make sure you end up alright. You do not have to pay nothing back, Ofcos love your mum & dad, but be independent. Also there is no conferences for your FIL because it is very rare for Mkhwenyana to be treated badly by woman’s family they treat ya’ll like eggs. Also the language I cringe at what the poor ex went through. Clearly one wasn’t taught to talk. The one who supposed to protect your mum is her husband
