@srirachalesbian: #stitch with @Hue! just sharing my perspective as a misogyny-affected nonbinary person who works in a field dominated by misogynistic men. a few other notes: i have never seen anyone kicked out of these events, even cishet men. though i have seen people perceived as men asked to (not made to) leave when discussing misogyny more in depth (rarely). i say people perceived as bc i do not know them personally. trans women have been included in each of these spaces although one of orgs i worked (it used women+, not women and nonbinary) was assumed to be trans-exclusive (without evidence) and this rumor was used to push for it to get shut down by nonmisogyny-affected individuals. bc of that experience, i find it dangerous to assume ill intent when it comes to affinity clubs and orgs. #nonbinary #trans
i havent seen this discourse yet but i agree 100% and i love how you brought this perspective and explained your thought process

srirachalesbian :
nonbinary people are inherently included in every space, just as they are excluded from every space based, again, on the personal experiences/identity of the individual. i feel like part of the reason we hear about "women and nonbinary" but not "men and nonbinary" are for a few reasons: most of the world is a men's space, and women tend to lean liberal, therefore attempt to use more inclusive language more often

Also…afab would exclude some women which might not be their goal so misogyny affected people is definitely a better way to go.

I wholeheartedly agree. Also ppl love to say something doesn’t include them when it doesn’t center them. Some folks have imposter syndrome and look for any reason to dislike something rather than look at themselves and why they don’t feel a part of community. Because I’ve been to many events with all sorts of people and for the most part everyone is chilling
