So in my hcn, Homura hates herself really much that she don't want to let herself - a guilty devil face with Madoka - a sacred god, but she misses Madoka so much so she sends her lizard to meet Madoka instead. However, her lizard is also her familiar (I guess) so that's the reason why it cries when being held by Madoka, represent how much love and anguish she spends for the love of her life.
