@2bebetterpodcast: Do you punish your partner when they do something you don’t like or you’re hurt? #2bebetterpodcast #2bebetter #chrisandpeaches #marriagehelp #marriageissues #Love #dating #datingadvice #Relationship #relationshipadvice #marriage #marriageadvice #communication #relationshipcoach #couplegoals
yeah my therapist described this as emotional abuse and having been with someone who did this it was pure torture. To say I love you and get nothing back would leave me physically sick.

I needed to hear this and I am glad to have it explained, I had to end a relationship because we did this to each other for different reasons and in different ways, and I didn't want to hurt them anymore and I didn't want to be hurt anymore either. I have things to work on, my communication, my emotions, my own triggers. I don't want to hurt anyone that I am supposed to love. I want to be able to be a better version of myself at least than I was before I ever be in a relationship again. I don't want to hold things over anyone or grudges and even with myself. I want to be a team and not be against my potential partner. 🥺💜 your videos mean the world to me when I want to understand a lot of things. 💜

It's not easy or pretty to look at yourself and admit to having that "punishment mechanism" due to whatever reason but it's always your own responsibility to fix that in yourself

When your vulnerabilities are weaponized against you. You get to a point that you can't let people in your life see you vulnerable cuz they might use it against you too.

this is exactly what I went through. I definitely contributed towards the breakdown of my marriage but having things brought up from 15 years ago just to punish me was the nail in the coffin so I took myself out of the equation. I won't be punished for things I have apologised and taken accountability for
