The answer is simple. Income inequality is toxic to a society and it makes the citizens of the country feel like it’s a zero sum game rather than a tide lifting all boats. So if someone else is getting something (like the ability to basically exist), they feel like it’s taking away from them inherently.

I live in PA and I’ve been saying this along! While there may or may not be an issue in Texas, but illegal immigrates will very little affect on our lives here. To me it’s more of a racist issue!! They’re showing their true colors!

I think people are so pro "boot the illegals" because they believe that they follow the law, they follow the rules, and are entitled to the benefits of being a citizen. But then there are these immigrants that don't follow the rules and don't follow the laws to enter the right way and add to the burden of the daily struggles of citizens.. That's my opinion of their mindset. I don't think those people really understand that these are refugees, not immigrants. Their situation is sooo bad at their home country they pack up their whole family and risk traveling hundreds of miles just at a chance to get away. Because if they try to fight to change things in their country, their family becomes a target.
