tbh idk. I wrote this as a sort of stream of consciousness, and it is an expiration of a larger world so it's never been front of mind. I'd love for someone to read it and tell me what they take from it in terms of themes. I won't lie I do have one I'm the back of my mind but I won't say it publicly until at least a few pieces of the universe are out.

Main points: 1. Heroes have to be willing to do monstrous things. 2. Sometimes, all it takes to save someone is to tell them that you'll be there to talk whenever they're ready. 3. Intelligence agencies do a lot of terrible things to innocent people because of ambitious people wanting to get promoted.

Love is a very big component of my book but also the fact that secrets, particularly family secrets, become increasingly dangerous the longer that they are hidden and suppressed. The theme of trust is a big one as well.

what I really hope they tale away from it: 1 love should not hurt you. it's built on trust and warmth. 2 Every child deserves safety and love. 3 the system allows bad actors to compound the hurt, because children aren't seen as people, only tools. 4 sometimes the world isn't fair, but that means you do what you can to make it better, even if it's only one person.

my first YA novel Tempting Lips the main theme is the sisterly bond that is sometimes taken for granted. Family doesn't always have to be loyal and stick by your side so when they do you should make sure they know you appreciate it. also that quiet appreciation in romance is underrated.
