TBH if ‘axe’ is used instead of ‘ask’ (in middle/upper class communities) it is looked at as the person is uneducated or not as knowledgeable.

I say axing only. I am from Louisiana so I got it from my mama when I got older. I try to correct myself all the time but when I am talking, it just comes out like that it's hard to correct.🤪🤪

thank you!!!! I understand if it's a patois, but like countries with patois, citizens usually also speak the native standard language. also, when speaking another language, we are responsible for accuracy and accent. I wouldn't disrespect the French with incorrect tense, accent, pronunciation, etc.
