it makes me mad how people throw serious words out loosely… it dilutes the meaning of them… saying Huda SA’d chris is INSANE, calling her an abuser is INSANE! these are real words with real life meaning

It’s completely fair to say Huda had moments where she could’ve communicated better or taken a step back. But it’s also fair to acknowledge that a lot of the backlash is overblown, often rooted in misogyny, mob mentality, or just plain bullying.

What’s so crazy to me is the fact that chris basically broke her nose and production did nothing about it. It’s like the whole Sammie Ronnie thing with Jersey shore, aired what is basically DV on worldwide television. I feel like that shouldn’t be happening

I used to behave like Huda when I was a teenager & in my early 20s. I grew up. I went to therapy. I did shadow work. I am now very self aware. I check myself before I act up. It takes a long time and the healing never ends but it does get much better. I have compassion for Huda because I’ve been through similar things & have ADHD.

Thank you for this. Trauma literally impacts the way your brain develops and trauma work and healing from it takes a VERY LONG TIME. As high as 1 in 3 kids have experienced trauma. I am a therapist who works extensively with trauma. People do eventually create new pathways and their brain isn’t as high jacked by the trauma, but it takes years. The real problem in this country right now is actually the lack of empathy.

Add in she’s a young single mother who has to pause healing to focus on raising a future productive member of society. I get it because my kids are grown now and I’m finally able to focus on my healing

people don’t understand that healing is a luxury not everyone has space for. it takes being in a safe space for a long period of time separated from the cause of your trauma.

a lot of the girls i’ve seen hate huda are mean girls that swear they’re good people and “spread positivity” but have internal struggles they don’t want to recognize in themselves

Truth is after watching Huda on the podcast. She has a lot of past traumas that she has 100% dealt with and it seems like she brought some of those past traumas onto love Island.

I think she definitely has to heal from abandonment wounds. And it’s so sad that those wounds were ripped back open in front of the whole world. But I think she’s gotten so much feedback and is starting to grow and heal. I’m sure she’s been working on healing even before but sometimes the people close to us don’t give constructive feedback and instead enable or validate the destructive coping mechanisms.
