Brighton Beach was not and is not “Russian” it used to be Little Odessa now it’s Little Uzbekistan - but it was never “Russian” the predominant language was / is “Russian” because of the many migrants from Odessa, Kyiv and many other Former Soviet countries and cities that spoke “Russian” as a common language.
