Over the years we’ve fostered puppies for rescues, many who were newborn orphans who needed to be bottle fed. My German Shepherd Dog Akiva, was always very involved and let the infant puppies snuggle with her as she cared for them like a mama dog would do. A few years ago we took in a 5 day old kitten to bottle feed. We named her Talia and Akiva and Talia (Tali) became best friends. And they still are but the tables are turned. Akiva is now 14 and her mobility has diminished, so every day I see Tali snuggling with Akiva and now taking care of her.
