Dad of 3 girls. Your daughter is a rookie. I got into my eldest daughter’s trash hole once and she had used cardboard and foam board to construct a dam to hold back the flood of stuff. I feel your pain.

Let me preface this by saying I'm not trying to lecture you...with that said, as her mama, please teach her how to clean, how to declutter, how to respect items. As a parent it's so important to make sure you prepare your child for life, that includes cleanliness. She's a kid, she knows what you teach her.

You're too sweet as a mom to do laundry for your kids. 🥰 My 7-yr-old son helps me w laundry. Washes, dries, folds & puts away his own sfuff. He does the dogs' stuff, too, every evening. My key phrase: "Mama needs help, bruh... May I get super lucky to borrow my favorite assistant's macho macho strength to help me?" It works every day. 🤪

If I tell my klepto 14 yr old daughter to stop taking makeup meant for some who is 41 or has completely diff skin tone or any beauty products she swears im speaking Swahili and didn’t understand the assignment😳 same goes for my clothes. that is.....checking notes.....a false statement. they will wash their clothes and leave them in their basket until they need the basket again. and all the clean clothes in the basket go back onto the floor.

I would get her and I would put her in that room and I would sit there on a chair and I would tell her to go through every single item and give you everything that is yours. Then I would tell her to find a place for everything on the floor. And if she can’t do that, I would inform her that you are going to clean it up in 24 or 48 hours And you were going to take it all and either bag it up and put it somewhere or get rid of it. I would not put up with them living like that in your house.

It continues past the teenage years! Two of my daughters in their 20s still come to my house when I’m not home and take my clothes and shoes! I’m always having to call and text them and ask if they have something I am looking for to wear.🙄

my daughter never borrowed my clothes and even now that she's an adult would never wear the same style as me I like bright colors especially pink and she has always liked it darker colors and a completely different style than me only thing we wear similar is leggings and everyone wears those
