I was an aide in an elementary school cafeteria. My rule was if it can’t be fixed in five(seconds), we don’t talk about it. You can tell your friend they have food in their teeth, but not that they’re crooked 🤷🏻♀️

As a mom of 4 children with pale skin blue eyes and straight blonde hair. I try my hardest to teach my kids but I also hope if they ever say anything like this to a classmate the classmate says the same damn thing and then they will come home and I will also tell them to mind their own damn business. 😂🥴

Yo- I mean that hypothetical mom are fire. I teach fifth grade. I try to enforce if they can’t change it right now ( eg shirt’s inside out, shoes untied etc). It is not open for discussion

Having been that hypothetical mom with a son now 19 and had to fight suspension from school bc of braids with hair added that was not natural to him this mom did great. When I would hear the weird comments I would ask why and taught him to do the same. Having to explain it stops it very quickly. 🤣😂

Mama to three blond hair blue eyes kids here. Luckily my kids are/were in a diverse elementary school and learned a lot about others. We also work A LOT on this at home. Now they’re the ones snapping at people who make rude comments.
