I think the message was real, but edited. I feel the next movie will reveal that his parents were explaining to Superman what the leaders of Krypton expected, but that they didn't want that for him. I think he's exactly how they wished him to be.

I absolutely love that they made it so Super man considered his adoptive parents his real parents! James Gunn loves the "found family" trope and I absolutely am all for it and love him for it

I personally still think Lex just said that his parents said whatever he wanted them to say. I wish we got a full scene of Clark trying to make sure that’s actually what the parents said. When Lex said “we had these linguistic experts look through…” I was FULLY expecting for him to be lying. The way it was written was weird honestly

the way they said it didn’t feel evil tho. the harem is trying to keep their race alive and if all the women in it are willing and know what they’re doing it’s not evil. and to rule with a iron first if he’s a fair king that wouldn’t be too evil either

Honestly the message isn’t really that bad. Saying humans aren’t that bright isn’t really an untruth compared to krypton. Saying have a harem well he is one of the last of their kind and Kara wouldn’t be able to do that. Crush anyone who would defy him sounds bad but ultimately doesn’t he kinda do that in the end when talks fail😅

I cant stop thinking about the way translation works and how Lex was absolutely lying about it being verified, as far as we know kryptonian only exists in the tech sent with kara/kal-el and I doubt enough of the language was understood by scholars to fully verify the translation

I mean considering superman was one of the only two babies sent out of the planet. it must've been expensive or atleast something that only the 1% of krypton could afford to do. I'm very willing to believe that superman's parents were the rulers or dictators in krypton. and obvious I feel like being a rich dictator doesn't make you a good person.
