@principlesparenting: Read this before you come to express your annoyance with this take: I am pro sleep. Pro routine. I am not pro forcing your kid to bed because they don’t want to sleep. This deprives kids of self regulation. Experts will tell you toddlers can’t regulate, to which I’d say they are wrong and experience has shown me so. Toddlers are more capable than we realize. For decades we were told kids can start to read at 5. Now, many kids are reading at 2.5. It’s the same with bedtimes and reasoning; if you give your kids autonomy and don’t force bedtimes, they will not feel compelled to stay awake and will discover their own natural circadian rhythms. Contrary to popular belief your Toddler won’t stay up until 1am forever. They’ll go to bed and figure it out within a week or two. Short term, you lose some sleep, but long term you give your kids autonomy, and self regulation skills. #fyp #toddlersoftiktok
… so if the kid has to wake up at the same time every day…………

100% for the parents, and it’s the parents who are stubborn about it, not the kids

Shiro :
Yeah this only works when you have a kid that sleeps. I tried this with my kid. It was three days of her being awake for 16+ hours straight. not once did she go to sleep on her own.
