@shagisabadword: My Kia is fine. Actually more than fine. It was making a weird noise and I thought it was the brakes, but apparently some rust got on the brakes. 😭 the mechanic told me to drive my car more 😭

Anything that sits to long will start to decay. It’s the life cycle. Whether it be mechanical or biological. This is why laziness kills people faster. This is also why people moving fast actually age slower.

Yeah. If you don’t drive it/crank it for long enough, your battery can also die

Kias are notoriously poor quality. if you do need a new car sooner rather then later I recommend subaru and Toyota for longevity of life and cheaper parts/fixes. I've had 3 subarus that have SAT for a long time and all run and drive perfectly fine and have little or no rust (one is an 04 so it's got a little spot)

I've had brake pads rust to the rotor and it take a ton of work to break them so the car could move

Rotors always rust. High iron content and moisture in the air. One good stop and she’s all new again lol

Mainly the tires, batteries, and any rubber parts are why it’s a good idea to drive your vehicle regularly even if it’s only a few times around the block.

Much worse, if it’s not regularly driven, rodents can get in and start chewing through cables

Brake rotors rust no matter what you do. It's normal. What the hell is Chris Fix telling people on YouTube about cars?

if you ride the brakes while driving for a bit it will clean them up. its typical for brakes to do that. be glad they aren't old drum brakes that seize up
