@bradbernsteinlaw: Got deported and want to come back? Here’s what the law really says If you’ve been deported or removed from the U.S., you can’t just come back whenever you want—even with a visa. ⛔️ 5, 10, or 20-year bars apply depending on how you were removed: • Expedited removal? That’s a 5-year bar. • Regular deportation? 10 years. • Multiple removals? You’re looking at 20 years. • Aggravated felony? You’re barred for life—unless you get special permission. ✅ There are waivers, like Form I-212 to ask for permission to reenter early, and sometimes a 601 or 601A waiver for other issues like fraud or unlawful presence. But if you reenter the U.S. without permission after a removal, that’s a felony—and you could face a permanent bar. ⸻ Deported and want to return legally? Don’t risk the permanent bar. Talk to an immigration lawyer before making any moves. ⸻ #Deportation #Deported #ImmigrationLaw #GreenCardProblems #ReentryBar #FormI212 #ImmigrationHelp #ImmigrationTips #BradBernstein #ImmigrationLawyer #LegalAdvice #ImmigrationWaiver #USImmigration

Do you get the ten year bar if you overstayed for a year and a half due to Covid, got married to a us citizen a few months after arriving, and never adjusted status but left voluntarily without any issues

@bradbernsteinlaw Does it matter what year it was? Let’s say if you were deported and reentered before 1996?
