2% of $10 million is 200,000. That means that if her investments average at least a 2% return she can always spend 200,000 a year for the rest of her life. When adjusted for inflation, the s and p 500 has averaged an annual return of about 7% for the past 30 years. Assuming her money is in an index fund like the s and p, she’ll never have to change her lifestyle. Like for more unsolicited financial tips.
