@adeolagboyega: The closing of @Ami Colé later this year is a tremendous loss for the beauty industry. It’s deeply disheartening to witness a brand so thoughtfully built to celebrate and serve melanin-rich skin face such challenges and lack of sustained support. Less than one percent of venture capital funding goes to Black founders, an even smaller fraction to solo founders and when you add the layer of being a Black woman, it can feel like we’re constantly fighting an uphill battle. As someone who dreams of launching a beauty brand one day, it’s incredibly hard to watch brands like Ami Colé & Pat McGrath Labs face such obstacles despite their innovation, passion, and purpose. It shakes the belief that there’s space for us, even when we’re building for ourselves. We need Black-owned beauty brands to thrive. We need the representation, the support, and the visibility. We need to see people who look like us leading these spaces, so future generations know what’s possible. But it’s hard not to question what the future holds for Black-owned brands when, even in 2025, there are still glaring gaps in funding, opportunity, and recognition. I want to hold space for @Diarrha Ndiaye and honor everything you accomplished with Ami Colé. What you created was powerful, needed, and beautiful. Your vision to carve out a space for us to be seen, to be celebrated, was nothing short of inspiring. You remain a beacon for so many of us, and your impact is far from over. #AmiCole #amicoleirl #blackownedbeauty #blackbeauty #makeup #makeupartist #creatorsearchinsights

The challenges black women face when launching a business is disheartening! When I launched my dried flower business- I remember not feeling comfortable promoting as black owned out of fear of lack of success. I eventually did and lost some followers and my sales dropped slightly…

I loved her multisticks. They are legitimately the best ones on the market and it’s such a huge loss.

I’m truly sad as a hopeful consumer in the UK and hopeful beauty wellness founder. Just really disheartening and defeatist 😔 She’s /Ami Cole’s a trailblazer regardless and very proud of her 🙌🏽

Yes!! the fact Im only hearing about this brand is crazy! the number of hairstylists closing in Manchester is MAD. Im blaming the panaromic. THEY enriched themselves and now everyone is paying the price! Peep it😫

It’s heartbreaking. They were the first brand I was “influenced” to buy from TikTok and that was over 3 yrs ago
