I've an auditory processing disorder and watch everything with subtitles and have live closed captioning on my work laptop for verbal meetings. I'm going to look into these. I would like to read everything but I understand your position. we should be free to engage with aids or not

Suppose it wouldn’t be accessible for children and people with dyslexia. Maybe someone who is partially deaf blind and can’t distinguish between letters as well as signs.

as a HOH person i literally can not be convinced that they work well 😭 they would be most useful in environments where it’s most difficult to hear (like outside of a bar) and i can’t see how they would pick up which person to caption.

I hate to even know the price of those things too. And not to mention “why don’t you wear caption glasses all the time??” Is another way of saying “I’m too lazy and I don’t care enough to help bridge the gap in communication - you should meet me where I’m standing instead”

I was really intrigued by these and am now considering a pair for my sister/dad as a gift. Have you heard of or tried the Captify glasses? They're a bit cheaper and have integrated prescription if you need them. Have you done a review of the hearview glasses?
